Synopsis
A 2-hour movie for CBS. A television program is interrupted to announce that three major seismic events have occurred simultaneously! one of them located in Wyoming. News teams report a massive crater, more than 1/2 a mile across, made by a meteorite of staggering proportions. The area is devastated. The other impact sites are in Mongolia and Lourdes, France. NASA announces that an asteroid disintegrated at a point directly over the North Pole, breaking into the three meteorites. All the coordinates add up to a perfect hypotenuse triangle. Such precision, a noted astronomer warns, means this could not be a random happening. The whole country is transfixed by the world drama of responding to a challenge from outer space.
