Synopsis

By 1917, millions of lives were lost on the battlefields of World War I. Later, in the United States, the Roaring Twenties reached full swing, as the Jazz Age gave birth to Mickey Mouse and Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. The extraordinary achievement of Charles Lindbergh, who in 1927 flew solo nonstop from New York to Paris, became legendary on both continents. The same year, Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs, setting a single season record that stood for 30 years. Gertrude Stein, Picasso, Hemingway, Josephine Baker and Coco Chanel made Paris the center of the artistic universe, home to the "Lost Generation."
